This walk is a variation to Empire Pass - Echo Bluff Loop, but adds the walk up to Queens Road and back before either continuing around Empire Pass, or up to Echo Bluff (depending on the direction walked) for the full loop.
The walk up to Queens Road has one very significant climb up a stony fire trail, which is pretty horrid; but the rest of that section is remarkably beautiful.
We also duck up into St Michaels Falls this time, as it's been raining all week, and all five waterfalls were extremely full and roaring… they are always nice, but after rain they are amazing.
I've labelled this a ¼ Day, but it only scrapes in at 2.75 hours.

Visit the Glowworms
Heading out on this walk at, or a little after, dusk would mean that coming back along Empire Pass should give us great viewing of the glowworms. We hadn't actually done Empire Pass in the night before, but the other end at St Michael's and Dante's Glen the glowworms are very nice; so we guessed that Empire Pass should be equally good.
I think the glowworms at the eastern end of Empire Pass were really exceptional, and walking the track at night not that difficult at all.
