This walk starts at Tom Hunter Oval and walks through to Lucinda Ave, mainly on well-formed tracks, and returns using the same route.
The main reason for doing this walk, apart from lugging a heavy pack up and down a couple of hundred metres, is to stop and gaze at the majestic beauty of the Glowworm Grotto. The Glowworm Grotto really is an awesome sight, and well worth the walk down under lights.
The track down to Birdwood Gully Round Link Track from Tom Hunter can be a little hard to find in the dark (Sandi didn't remember her last time doing this walk in the dark on The Epiphany Pilgrimage), but the only trick so to climb the rock outcrop next to the wee cave (which is pretty obvious). Apart from that, it's very straight forward (even in the pitch dark).
