Lindeman Pass
Lindeman Pass is one of those iconic walks in the Blue Mountains that no one knows; which was probably more true before Jim Smith published his excellent book The Blue Mountains mystery track : Lindeman Pass, but thankfully these days receives a substantial number of walkers. The previous entry in Dash's Cave was a week ago.
The purpose of doing this walk, apart from wanting to do it for some time, was it's on Day One of my planned walk to Melbourne It Started as a Dream, and I wanted to check it was going to fit into the first day.
The walk is about 12km long and has about 800m ascent and descent along its route, and took us about 6.5 hours. We were extremely surprised with the track… all over the web are people's track notes that detail (often with photos and videos) the difficulties they encountered. We discovered none of that – there were lots of slow stretches and a few scrambles, but no navigational difficulties or walking dramas. Just beautiful Blue Mountains forest and waterfalls.
