We've made up 4 of our Keto Bar recipes:
- Chewy Nut Bar
- Chocolate Trail Bar
- Sesame Seed Bar
- Chia Bars
Sealed them in freezer bags (which is what we normally do when de-bagging our food), and set them aside to wait the next three months out.

This is reminding us of the longevity testing we did for the Australian Alpine Walking Track, where we put all sorts of things, but especially the cheese sticks we use, into a bucket in the sun room. This was to make sure not only that the food was palatable after two months, but it also survived the possible warmth it was going to have to endure. The cheese worked out fine, even if it did have a bit of the fat exude somewhat.
The plan here is to test these after a month, then again at two and three months.
We have a slight discrepancy between the testing conditions and the likely 'live' conditions. Our food drops will be sitting out in the South Australian outback during late winter / early spring, but it's high summer in our sun room.

An off-the-shelf Keto bar can cost anything from $3 to $6, so as long as our baked results are acceptable 2-3 months down the track, the cost is looking pretty good.
Certainly, those that were not needed for longevity testing disappeared pretty quickly…
