Just read an amazing article: Why Middle Class Mothers and Fathers are Going Broke

It's a good sell, I'm very tempted to buy the book just to find out what it was (how to fix the problem) that they didn't tell us.

The Age had an article, Beware the Two Income Trap, which put an Australian slant (and figures) on to it.

But this, more or less, is what we've been feeling and saying for some decades here. We had to make very real sacrifices to keep Sandi at home with the boys, and it's only now that the boys are out of school that she's gone back to work (even if it is part time). And interestingly enough, our first house purchase is very much aligned with Sandi's re-entry into the workforce.
